VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Monday, October 28, beginning at 7 p.m., Valdosta State University’s Sociology and Anthropology Club hosted the Last Debate for the students of the campus and members of the community. Mayoral candidates David Sumner, J.D. Rice, and Kevin J. Bussey and City Council At-Large candidates Edgar Nicky Tooley, Adrian J. Rivers and Jeremy L. Stone were in attendance.
With the hopes of getting the local college students more involved with the voting process within the city, the importance of their vote was stressed throughout the night. Thanks to this event, the candidates were able to speak directly to this often forgotten about voting population.
All of the attending candidates were given an allotted amount of time to not only introduce themselves and their running points, but also to answer questions that were submitted my the students in attendance.
Thanks to this event the students now have a better understanding of the potential city officials that they will have the option of voting for.
More information about the candidates can be found on our Elections Page.
