VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Monday, September 16, 2019 at 8:25 A.M., the Valdosta Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 1713 Fellowship Drive.
The first fire unit arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the residence. The fire was quickly extinguished by the crews. There was no one inside the residence at the time of the incident.
There were a total of 14 Valdosta Firefighters on the scene. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
Later that evening at 7:22 p.m., the Valdosta Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 1200 West Alden Avenue.
The first unit arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the residence. The fire was quickly extinguished by the crews on scene. All residents were out of the house upon the fire department’s arrival.
Again, the cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
There were no injuries or casualties as a result of the incident.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist with the nine displaced occupants.
