LOWNDES CO., Ga. – According to Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk, a stolen Infinity from Columbus being driven by two as yet unknown individuals headed south on Interstate 75 were being chased by Cook County authorities.

The Georgia State Patrol and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office was prepared to pick up the chase and threw down stop sticks, according to a hurried on-the-scene report from Sheriff Paulk.

Debris from the violent crash

The Infinity “went airborne,” Paulk said, crossing 122 and crashing at the truck stop where a woman sitting on a bench was injured with at least two broken legs.
