VALDOSTA – Three people were injured in a crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 75 near Valdosta Thursday morning.
GSP says the crash happened around 8:20 a.m. on I-75 northbound near exit 18.
According to GSP, a driver in a Lincoln Navigator SUV as towing a camper trailer northbound on I-75 and lost control when the camper began to weave back and forth. The camper broke free from the vehicle and overturned into the left northbound lane.
A semi-truck swerved to avoid a collision with the SUV, which ended up colliding with the front end of the tractor-trailer.
A 5-year-old boy in the SUV was taken to South Georgia Medical Center by ambulance for a head injury. The SUV driver and a front seat passenger suffered minor injuries.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
All three northbound lanes were closed for about an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.
The driver of the SUV was issued a warning for failure to maintain a lane.
