Dancing Stars of South Georgia compete to end Alzheimer’s

TIFTON – South Georgia residents will show off their best dance moves to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter. Dancing Stars of South Georgia will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the UGA Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.

Mirroring the popular TV show Dancing with the Stars, this event pairs local South Georgia residents with professional dancers to raise money by gaining votes in a one-night dance competition. Fans can vote online for just $1 prior to the event, with all proceeds benefitting the Georgia Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association. WHO:
Event hosts include Karla Heath-Sands, news anchor at WALB-TV, and Tyron Spearman, editor of the Peanut Farm Market News. Confirmed judges are Carolyn Ellis, local dance studio owner, and Michael Purvis, past star dancer and CEO of Cook Medical Center.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s research, care and support. Its mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
