VALDOSTA – Valdosta High School Senior Marquis Grant competed in his final Georgia Forensic Coaches Association circuit tournament this past weekend.
Marquis ends his high school Lincoln Douglas Debate career as the highest ranked debater in the state. During his senior season, Marquis only lost five rounds of competition.
Each tournament averages 5-6 preliminary rounds with out-rounds often beginning at octo or quarter-finals. The highlight of his senior season was at the Peachstate Classic Invitational hosted by Carrollton High School, one of the largest tournaments in the country, where Marquis went undefeated through 8 rounds of competition to emerge as the Champion.
