VALDOSTA – On March 23, after receiving a tip, Valdosta Police Narcotics Agents located and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the 800 block of South Saint Augustine Road.
Contact was made with the driver who identified himself as 50-year-old “John Demore”. The driver was later found to be lying about his identity and was correctly identified as 42-year-old Daniel Demore.
During the investigation, a search of Demore’s vehicle yielded a large amount of narcotics packaged for sale to include: 10 “hits” of LSD impregnated paper, 18.2 grams of butanediol, 113 Alprazolam pills, 26 Oxycodone pills, 15 grams of Dronabinol, 4 grams of Methamphetamine, various prescription drugs classified as “dangerous”, multiple tools indicative of narcotics sales and distribution, a quantity of marijuana, and 1600 dollars in US currency.
Demore was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail where he now faces charges of:
- Possession of LSD with the Intent to Distribute (FELONY)
- Possession of Butanediol with the Intent to Distribute (FELONY)
- Possession of Dronabinol with the Intent to Distribute (FELONY)
- Possession of Oxycodone with the Intent to Distribute (FELONY)
- Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute (FELONY)
- Possession of Dangerous Drugs (x’2) (FELONY)
- Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime (FELONY)
- Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Maintain Lane (Misdemeanor)
- Distracted Driving (Misdemeanor)
- Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer (Misdemeanor)
“This arrest is one of many over the past few months by the Narcotics Unit, who continue to work with our community to rid the city of illegal drugs. I am very proud of this unit whom, once they receive a tip, take action to follow up and investigate that information. This is truly community policing,” stated Chief Brian Childress.
