DASHER – A Dasher man is in custody after barricading himself inside a home in an apparent attempt to resist deputies who were executing a warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed an arrest warrant for a man at a residence in the 4000 block of Highway 41 after recovering stolen property during an investigation, said Lowndes Sheriff Ashley Paulk.

The man reportedly refused to open the door, and deputies talked with the man for approximately an hour in an attempt to draw him out. At around 5:30 p.m., deputies forced their way into the home and made the arrest, Paulk said.

No gunfire or injuries were reported. The identity of the individual has not been released.
