VALDOSTA – Police thwarted a robbery attempt at a Valdosta Walmart Thursday afternoon, and a suspect is in custody.

Original statement from the Valdosta Police Department:

On July 21, 2016 at approximately 4:30 p.m., two African American males entered the Walmart located at 3274 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta, Georgia.  The males approached the Money Center and handed a note to the cashier  demanding money.  The males suggested to the cashier that they had a weapon.  Walmart employees quickly and quietly called police.  Valdosta Police Officers arrived on scene and took both males into custody.  No one was injured during the incident.  More information will be released when it becomes available.

After further investigation, one male was released and one has been identified as the offender in the robbery.
