VALDOSTA – A Valdosta man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly making threats to kill police officers.

Shortly after 7 p.m., the Valdosta Police Department responded to the Perimeter Crossing Condos in the 3400 block Inner Perimeter Road after receiving a 911 call from a man threating to shoot Valdosta Police officers, said VPD Chief Brian Childress.

VPD officers reportedly surrounded the area, evacuated nearby homes, and engaged the man using a bull horn, Childress said.

The man eventually surrendered to police and was arrested without incident. No one was hurt, Childress said.

The offenders name has yet to be released. He has been identified as an African American male and has been charged with making terroristic threats.

Charges are pending, and more information will be available Monday.
