Release from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office
LAKE PARK – This morning around 7:00 deputies, fire and emergency medical services were called to a Teresa Drive address in Lake Park after an individual was found unresponsive in the lake.
The male was pulled to the shore and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Sheriff’s Office detectives and crime scene investigators were called and assumed the investigation.
Detectives are continuing to conduct interviews and process evidence found at the scene. An exact cause of death has not been determined although alcohol may be a factor. Working with the Lowndes County Coroner’s office, detectives have requested an autopsy which will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Sheriff Chris Prine stated, “We are continuing with this investigation and the autopsy will shed some light on the exact cause of death. If anyone has information about this incident I would encourage them to contact our detective office.”
The identity of the deceased is not being released pending the notification of the next-of-kin.
