VALDOSTA – The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a flood warning for the Withlacoochee River above Skipper Bridge Road.

The flood warning is in effect until late Tuesday night and affects Brooks and Lowndes Counties. At 6:30 p.m. Monday, the river stage was 136.4 ft. Flood stage is 135 ft. Minor flooding is occurring and is forecasted to continue, according to NWS.

The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late Tuesday evening.

NWS urges drivers to not attempt to drive cars through flooded areas.
