AMERICUS — An arrest has been made related to a Sunday homicide in Americus.

Luciana Childs, 40, was killed in a domestic violence attack before dawn on Sunday.  Childs and another victim, who was only injured, were attacked by Childs’ husband, Lafonzo Childs, 40.

The incident occurred at the 600 block of Valley Drive in Americus.

Reports from WALB stated the suspect was apprehended not long after the attack by Americus Police on South Lee Street at a convenience store.  He is being held at the Sumter County Law Enforcement Center and is being charged with murder.
