DOUGLAS — Fireworks took the life of a Douglas man over the holidays.

Stephen Goodman, 27 of Douglas, reported placed a firework in a tube upside down and then lifted the tube over his head.  When the firework exploded, it struck Goodman in the head.

The incident occurred after midnight Friday morning.  Sheriff’s deputies and emergency medical personnel responded.

Goodman had a large laceration to his neck caused by the firework explosion.

The victim was transported to the Coffee Regional Medical Center but died as a result of his injuries.
