VALDOSTA — The trial related to VSU protestor Eric Sheppard bringing a gun onto the VSU campus will have a venue change request.
WALB is reporting the lawyer representing Sheppard will file a motion Tuesday to request the trial be moved from Lowndes County. That and any other motions will be taken under consideration at a pre-trial hearing set for 1:30.
Shepard, who created a large controversy when he stomped on an American flag in protest on the VSU campus. Counter protests ensued as a result. Sheppard, who fled to Florida before being captured, was charged with having a gun on campus, reported found in his backpack by police.
