ALBANY — An Albany-area para-professional is facing battery charges after an incident with a 12-year old student.

According to reports from WALB, Marvin D. McWhorther, 37, is facing battery charges after a physical confrontation with a Radium Elementary School student in the school’s lunchroom.

Dougherty County Police issued a warrant for McWhorther, though school officials stated in the report he could turn himself in to authorities.

He has been instructed to either resign his position or face termination by Dougherty County Schools.
