ALBANY — Rising floodwaters trapped several families in their homes near the flooding Kinchafoonee Creek.

Lee County Emergency Management Agency personnel attempted several times to rescue families before the delivery of a 5-ton military truck big enough to rescue the families.

WALB is reporting an unknown number of homes flooded in the area as the creek crested Friday night at 21 feet at Pinewood Road Gauge, with cresting expected Sunday at the southern end of Lee County.
