VALDOSTA — An early morning fire Monday claimed a life in Valdosta.

Valdosta firefighters responded to a call related to a structure fire at 130 Perry Lane.  Upon arrival, they found light smoke coming from a residence.

The fire was extinguished, but a person was found dead inside, according to the report from Valdosta Fire Department.
