THOMASVILLE — Two elderly victims were killed in an accident Sunday in Thomasville.

Reports from the Georgia State Patrol note Everette Pollack, 81, and Jo Ann Tuvell, 84, were killed when the car they were in was hit by a semi.  The incident occurred at the intersection of the US Highway 84 Bypass and Georgia Highway 3 Sunday afternoon.

The report states the driver of the truck, Paul Jones, 54, failed to stop at a red-light.  Investigators noted he was distracted when trying to remove a headset when he drove through the light and into the car.

Charges against Jones are pending completion of the investigation.
