VALDOSTA — A suspect’s speed resulted in Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputies catching a forger with 36 fake debit/credit cards.

La Rosa-Mena Yariel ErnestoAfter the initial traffic stop proceeded, the deputies noticed the suspect, Yariel La Rosa, becoming increasingly nervous.  Deputies asked and received permission to search the car whereby they found the stash of debit/credit cards embossed with varying names.

Further investigation of the data codes found the cards to not match the names embossed on them.  That was enough for deputies to arrest the suspect.

Law enforcement then contacted the U.S. Secret Service who them became involved in the investigation, including contacting other potential victims.

Sheriff Prine praised the work of law enforcement and his deputies related to this arrest and investigation.
