VALDOSTA — Members of the 824th Base Defense Squadron are preparing to deploy to Southwest Asia.  There will be a ceremony marking this event, Friday at Moody Air Force Base.

The approximately 200 members of 824th BDS, a unit within the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing, provide fully-intergrated, highly capable and responsive forces to protect air bases and assets around the world.  They must be prepared to move on short notice.

The event, hosted by the 820th Base Defense Group, will be held Friday afternoon at Moody AFB.
