TIFTON –  A man has been arrested related to a hit-and-run incident last week in Tifton.

Jannie B. Lester, 62, was struck by a vehicle as she was walking along Armour Road.  Lester died from her injuries.  She was found by another driver who contacted police.  The driver of the vehicle who struck Lester fled the scene.

Over the weekend, Tifton Police announced the arrest of a suspect, Jacoby Johnson, 28, as being the driver of the vehicle that struck Lester.  Authorities have charged Johnson with felony leaving the scene of an accident.

Reports from WTXL stated that Tifton Police were not expected to file additional charges against Johnson.
