Albany Woman convicted on Hit and Run, Homicide Charges

ALBANY — An Albany woman has been found guilty on all counts related to a vehicular death of a mother of 3 children.

Demetria Harris, 28, was found guilty by a jury of vehicular homicide, hit and run, fleeing the scene, and other related charges.

Harris struck and killed Natosha McCray, 28, who was crossing West Oglethorpe Blvd. in Albany.  Harris was speeding at the time.

She then carried the victim on the hood of her car for over 800 feet before McCray’s body fell off.  Harris’ car then struck a building, then a tree, before coming to a stop. Injured, Harris then tried to flee the scene of the accident.  A passenger in Harris’ car was also injured in the accident.
