MOULTRIE — A teen who was discovered at the bottom of a pool has died.
The boy was pulled from the pool at a recreation center in Colquitt County and eventually taken to a Macon hospital in critical condition.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Lt. Shawn Bostick told WALB that Quantavish Osby, 17 of Valdosta, died Monday at a Macon hospital.
“He was seen jumping off the diving board and a few minutes later, it was discovered that he was at the bottom of the pool, haven’t resurfaced. And of course authorities were then notified,” said Bostick.
There was a wedding event that was going on at the recreation center near Moultrie. The sheriff’s office is uncertain if there is any connection. The officer’s report lists Osby as a student at Valdosta High.School.
