VALDOSTA — An unknown suspect shot and wounded a man at a Valdosta restaurant.

Sunday, Valdosta Police report officers were dispatched to South Georgia Medical Center where a male, James Bivins, had come into the ER with a gunshot wound to his lower torso.

Bivins told police the incident occurred at Andys Wings and Things, 810 Old Statenville Road in Valdosta.

He stated to police an unknown person pulled out a handgun in the parking lot and fired off several rounds. It is not known if the shooting was random or if someone in particular was the target.

Bivins stated a friend drove him to the ER after he realized he had been shot. Police spoke to several witnesses at the scene and no other persons were injured.  Police are considering a motive for the shooting. Detectives are actively working the case.
