VALDOSTA — The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest related to the drug Flakka, or Alpha PVP.
Sunday morning investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 84 West. During the course of the stop, the investigators conducted a search of the driver and the vehicle and found a .380 caliber handgun, with an attached laser, a quantity of Alpha PVP {Flakka}, plastic bags, scales and less than an ounce of marijuana.
The driver, Joshua Youmans was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with the offenses listed.
Joshua Youmans will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon where a bond will be considered.

In a separate incident on Friday night, investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office arrested David McKire in the 1700 block of River Street after receiving information regarding his possession of illegal narcotics and involvement with prostitution.
As the investigators approached, David McKire tried to flee on foot but was quickly caught and arrested. While searching McKire, the investigators found approximately ¾ of an ounce of Alpha PVP, which is commonly referred to as Flakka, as well as plastic bags, scales and a small quantity of cocaine.
David McKire was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with the offenses listed. A bond will be considered when he appears in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon.
