TIFTON — A man is reported to have attended a Mothers Against Drunk Driving class as part of a court-ordered sentence drunk.
The chapter leader for the Tifton MADD organization, Gary Robinson, told Tifton Police, in a report from WALB, that the suspect was intoxicated when he signed in for class Saturday.
Charles Gibbs, 41, had been arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Colquitt County. Part of his sentence included attendance at MADD meetings. According to the report, Gibbs had a blood alcohol level of .135 according to test submitted by law enforcement. He was taken directly to the Tift County Jail from the meeting.
In addition to his existing charges, he now also faces a charge of public intoxication.
