ALBANY — Albany Fire Department officials are rerouting all drivers in the eastbound lanes of Sylvester Road just west of the South County Line Rd. area where a gasoline tanker truck has overturned.

Early Sunday morning, police were called near the Dougherty-Worth county border where a Fuel South tanker truck had crashed.

The driver is reported to have lost control of the vehicle, hopped the curb and over-corrected. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital.  The report did not provide his name.

Approximately 1,500 gallons of gasoline have been spilled from the truck that carries about 8,500 gallons of fuel.

A Hazmat crew is working to contain the spill.  A second truck has been called in to offload the remaining gas from the wrecked tanker.
