SYLVESTER – Melvin Leon Davis Jr., 27, was arrested Tuesday for stealing three electric meters from other houses, and plugging them into his house, after his electricity was cut off for non-payment.
Sylvester Water, Gas, & Light employees discovered the unauthorized electric meters plugged into Davis’s apartment at 112 Carmen Lane on May, 4th 2015.
They took the meter, and then a week later, another meter was discovered by WG&L, which they also took.
When they found that he had done the same thing on Tuesday, WG&L contacted Sylvester Police, who arrested him.
Davis admitted to investigators that he took to meters and plugged them into his residence.
The value of the meters is only $63.00 each, but Investigator Jason Shiver says that this is very dangerous, and you can be electrocuted, or start a fire.
And… it’s a crime.
