CAMILLA — A teenager who nearly drowned last weekend in Albany was removed from life support and has died.

Garrett McIntyre, 18 of Camilla, had been in intensive care since the Saturday night incident when he was pulled from a pool after nearly drowning.

There were nearly 30 guests at a Dougherty County home celebrating high school graduation from Mitchell County High School when McIntyre slipped and went underwater unseen by other guests.  He was unresponsive and may have been under water for as many as five minutes before being seen and pulled from the water.
