VALDOSTA — Kayla Edwards came home to a woman stealing kitchen supplies and food from her home.

Yesterday, May 5, around 11:16 a.m. on 616 N. Oak Street, Edwards came home to Frankie Gillard robbing her home. Edwards reported that Gillard broke a window on the front door and let herself in.

Gillard left the home after Edwards confronted her. Edwards then called the police with a detailed description of Gillard.

An officer found a woman with a matching description walking on the 200 block of E. Force Street. Gillard gave the officer a false name and date of birth. The officer knew that she was in fact Gillard and arrested her.

Gillard was taken to Lowndes County Jail and has been charged with Burglary and Giving a False Name and Date of Birth. Police also found that she has an active arrest warrant for Violation of Parole.
