VALDOSTA — A woman was hit by a train on Thursday.

The incident occurred at the intersection of East Hill Avenue and Fry Street around 4:30 p.m.

Railroad crews reported that the woman walked past the gate and onto the railroad tracks when she was hit.

The train was traveling west at the time and sounded its siren.

The woman was rushed to the hospital and her condition is unkown at this time.
