BROOKFIELD — As severe weather swept through south Georgia Sunday, the community of Brookfield, near Tifton, was impacted by high winds.

The Brookfield Baptist Church on Highway 82 East from Tifton, was damaged by high winds, destroying the church’s steeple.  According to reports on WALB, the storm hit the community around 11:00 Sunday morning.

As of this report, there are no reports of injuries.
