Moody-Air-Force-Base-EntranceMOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – The 23d Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal team will detonate numerous munitions at Grand Bay Bombing and Gunnery Range on April 9, 2014, between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The detonations that may be heard throughout the Valdosta and surrounding areas are part of routine controlled reduction of unexploded munitions being overseen by Moody explosive ordnance specialists.

Military personnel regularly use the range and its surrounding airspace Monday to Friday during various hours for tactical air and ground maneuvers as well as weapons training. The U.S. Air Force Reserve also uses the range and airspace on specified weekends.
