VALDOSTA, GA – On Monday, Feb. 10, the City of Valdosta will begin installing stormwater pipes on River Street in preparation for a new sidewalk project, which will extend from Hightower to Beck Streets.  The pipes will be installed on the north side of the street.

This project is expected to be completed by the end of March, weather permitting. Due to the nature of the work, lane closures will be necessary at various times of the project.  Motorists will be alerted of these lane closures with adequate traffic signage and will be safely directed around the construction areas.  Citizens should find alternate routes, if possible; or drive cautiously when traveling through this area.

The stormwater pipe installation and sidewalk project are funded with SPLOST VI revenue.
