MITCHELL CO., GA – GBI agents are investigating a murder case in Mitchell County. They are questioning someone about the murder of 76 year old Joe Louis Williams, of 8877 Honeysuckle Road in Baconton. Shawn Williams, son of Joe Williams, said he received a phone call from his niece that his father had been shot. Williams said since the house is so far out in the country anything could happen out there. He did say he does not want the wrong person to be falsely accused of the murder of his father, but he does want justice.

The GBI is currently not giving details on who the suspect in custody is, but they are saying the person does live in the general area of Williams home. Joe Louis Williams was a minister and worked on his family’s pecan grove.
