TIFTON, GA – A man has been arrested in Tifton for inappropriate Facebook messages he sent to a minor. Marvin Young Jr., 36 of Brighton Road, Tifton, is being charged with obscene internet contact with a minor. He was arrested after the 13 year old minor’s parents complained about a message Young sent to the girl. Sheriff Gene Scarbrough says if the charges they have against Young are presented in court the way he has been charged he should be proven guilty.

Young is being charged with one count of obscene internet contact with a minor and 8 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Tift County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging parents to closely monitor your child’s social media accounts, and in the event of any inappropriate or suspicious activity to contact law enforcement.
