A couple from Douglasville is recovering at Shands Hospital in Gainesville following a Wednesday night wreck along I-75. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, 29-year old Elliot Wise was driving his Honda Element northbound on the interstate when he lost control of the small SUV.

The car went into the shoulder, then flipped over and struck a tree. His passenger, 24-year old Jessica Wise, was ejected from the vehicle. Both are now listed in serious condition at Shands.

The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
