Echols County Traffic Stop Leads To Meth Bust

police car lightsA simple traffic stop in Echols County turned into a drug bust for officers Thursday. Officers pulled over a Lincoln on Hwy. 376 early yesterday for a burned out brake light- the driver then began ‘acting suspicious,’ at which point the deputy called for assistance.

Deputies searched the car and found meth and other drugs inside the vehicle. 21-year old Courtney Carter and 32-year old David Windel Chaney Jr. are now charged with felony possession of drugs and felony possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
