Eight Nashville residents are behind bars, charged with creating and passing counterfeit bills throughout south Georgia. Officials say most of the counterfeit money was of the $20 variety, and began showing up around Berrien County in April.
33-year old Michael Carter, 42-year old Christopher Doe, 28-year old Tosha Lynn Jones, 20-y/o Jireh Jenier Perez, 38-y/o Demetrious Pettaway, 23-y/o Porsha Susanne Steverson, 34-y/o Talita Lashune Foster, and 22-y/o Kaley Jordon Turner are all charged with first degree forgery.
Police in Nashville say the investigation is not over, and more people are wanted in the case. All eight people arrested remain in the Berrien County Jail.
Mugshots for the other three arrested are not available from the Berrien Sheriff’s Office. Read more from WALB here.
