A 59-year old Thomas County man is behind bars, charged with sodomy and child molestation after a passerby heard a disturbing conversation inside a Thomasville church over the weekend.

Investigators say a man overheard girls talking about how they were ‘inappropriately touched’ by 59-year old Jimmy Martin. The man then went family members, who relayed the message to police. Thomas County officials say they interviewed the three girls, aged eight, six, and three, and after a forensic examination, determined that they were victims at the hand of Martin.

Martin is not related to the girls, and police say there could be more victims. He was denied bond at a hearing Monday and remains in the Thomas County Jail.
