Valdosta, GA- Cary Scarborough, the owner of Deep South Sanitation, says he has been served with a lawsuit filed by Lowndes County. The civil action lawsuit is, in effect, a cease-and-desist order to stop collecting trash in the county.

According to Scarborough, ‘the purpose of the lawsuit is to shut down Deep South’ when the suit is heard on June 14th. If Deep South is ‘forced out’ of the county, Advanced Disposal would be county residents’ only choice for trash service.

The county put the trash service out for bid earlier this year, a bid that ended up going to Advanced Disposal.
