A resident of Highway 129 North called in a complaint to sheriff’s deputies Friday after smelling marijuana coming from his neighbor’s property. A quick search of the home revealed this went far beyond someone puffing on a joint.

Deputies obtained a warrant for the home, where they found more than 83 pounds of the drug, including 38 plants. Investigators say the street value of the haul was close to a half-million dollars.

Jose Sanchez is now charged with Trafficking marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession of Tools used in the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
