Valdosta Identity Thief Nabbed In Statenville

Lowndes County Police CarA Florida woman has been arrested and charged with identity theft after police found numerous credit cards and bills belonging to other people on her person. Officers in Echols County caught up with 24-year old Ashley Humphrey after receiving a complaint that mail was being sent to a number of rental properties in different names.

While the officer was taking the complaint, Humphrey was attempting to pick up the mail. When a deputy searched her car, evidence immediately tied her to multiple felony cases in Lowndes County, the city of Valdosta, and Hamilton County (FL).

The 24-year old is now charged with three counts of felony identity fraud and one felony count of attempting and conspiring to commit identity theft in Echols County. Humphrey also faces multiple counts of felony identity fraud charges in Hamilton County, FL, Suwannee County, FL, Lowndes County, and Valdosta.

More charges are expected to be filed as the investigation continues.
