Soon, there could no longer be two separate law enforcement entities in Lanier County. A proposal on the table currently would combine the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office with the Lakeland PD.

The merge between the two would also open up seven new positions- five deputies, one investigator and one supervisor. The Lakeland City Commission will take up the issue at their April 9th meeting.
