The Tift County coroner has released the name of a man who was killed in a shooting on Friday. Coroner Josh Hendrix says Christopher Raphael Sears was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is expected to be completed early this week.

Investigators say Sears was shot and killed as he stopped his Ford truck at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Short Street. A woman in the passenger seat was wounded, but she was able to escape the the men who walked up to the truck and began shooting.

Deputies of the Tift County Sheriff’s Office spent most of Friday afternoon investigating the shooting on 3rd Avenue and Short Street.
