The Moultrie Youth Center is nothing more than a vacant slab at the moment. After a fire ripped through the building on March 18th, city officials said from the onset that the building was likely going to be torn down. The demolition took place on Thursday afternoon after the remains of the structure were condemned and deemed a hazard.
Recreation and Parks Director Terry Peek said the city has not decided whether to build a new youth center to replace this one, but if it does, the building will not be on the current site.
