A 49-year old Suwannee County woman holed herself up in her trailer and kept police at bay for nearly 4 hours on Wednesday. Janice Thomas allegedly was attempting to commit suicide by overdosing on pills. She locked herself in a bedroom- when officers forced their way in, Thomas was sitting on a bed pointing a gun at officers.

The woman then walked out the front door, threatening to shoot police if they failed to leave her property. Thomas finally gave herself up around 8pm Wednesday. She is now charged with Attempted Murder and nine counts of Aggravated Assault with a firearm on law enforcement officers.
