kids walking to schoolState Superintendent Dr. John Barge made a stop at a Coffee County school on Thursday afternoon to honor the students and staff at Broxton Mary Hayes Elementary. The school has been recognized as one of the state’s 2012 ‘Schools of Excellence’, and is just one of 28 schools statewide chosen for the honor.

“This is just evidence of the hard work that our teachers have put in and the efforts of everybody involved there from the para-professionals to the secretaries. Everybody’s been doing their best effort to raise achievement there,” said Dr. Morris Leis, Coffee County School Superintendent.

The school also received a $1,000 check for its progress.
