ATLANTA — A judge Tuesday convicted a prominent Buckhead-based real estate developer on two counts of housing code violations.
Rick Warren, of Atlanta, was convicted by Judge Crystal Gaines in Atlanta Municipal Court. He now faces up to 6 months in jail and fines on both counts. He is scheduled for sentencing October 20.
Warren was involved in 4 cases where he was accused of maintaining hazardous conditions at properties near English Avenue in Atlanta, a poor neighborhood. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed called Warren a predator for buying up the properties and then failing to properly maintain them.
